Psychological Testing

At Boca Integrative Health we use state of the art psych testing techniques to identify, with the highest degree of accuracy possible, a person’s current level of psychological functioning.

Generally, psychological testing quantifies and assesses intelligence and mental/emotional functioning.  It can be used to determine proper placement for children in school (e.g., giftedness, learning disabilities or ADHD) or to obtain a systematic evaluation of anecdotal losses of function, such as when a person feels that his or her memory or intellect is slipping.  Psychological testing can also provide crucial evidence in disability, competency and other legal determinations.

Frequently, perceived psychological deterioration in a particular area of function can be tested directly, and the results, if positive, help us to develop an appropriate treatment plan, whether it be by medication, particular intellectual exercises or coping strategies.  Where necessary and with the patient’s authorization, family and friends may be consulted and brought into meetings to discuss the patient’s current level of functioning and reasonable expectations for the future.  Of course, another advantage to obtaining psychological testing at Boca Integrative Health is the comprehensive care of the mind and body we provide.
